Story
One morning a boy named Horichiro went into the forest to collect firewood. He walked further than ever before, deep into a part of the woods he had never seen. Then he heard voices. Arguing voices.
He crept closer and hid in the bushes. In a clearing stood two strangers. One wore an expensive suit, dark sunglasses and very shiny yellow shoes. The other was enormous, covered in tattoos, wearing wooden sandals and no expression at all.
The argument became a duel. The man in sunglasses took a dramatic crane pose. The big man didn’t take any pose. He just stood there, like a rock.
The man in sunglasses attacked first: spins, kicks, a flying leap. The big man stopped every move with one hand. Fist met fist. They stepped apart. One of them was out of breath. It wasn’t the big one.
One last attack. The man in sunglasses launched into the air. The sun came out. Horichiro held his breath. Who would win?
The big man stepped aside and threw one punch. The duel was over. In the silence the big man heard clapping. A small boy with one tooth was standing in the bushes, cheering like it was the best day of his life. The big man looked at him, showed nothing at all, turned around and walked away.
Horichiro ran after him. He had just found his sensei. The sensei has been trying to lose him ever since.
